Executive Committee

The WLCNS is made up of an elected executive committee who volunteer to keep the program operating and compliant with Ministry standards.  The executive committee works closely with the ECCDC, the Niagara Region, and the Ministry of Education.

President - Jillian Forster

The president of the WLCNS is a two-year role.  They are responsible for overseeing the entire co-operative board as well as chairing meetings.  The president will also work closely and monitor the activities of the treasurer to ensure financial oversight.  Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • manages staff;

  • negotiates lease agreements;

  • negotiates insurance;

  • files Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) documents (in conjunction with treasurer and approval by Vice President);

  • applies for regional and other grants;

  • files required;

  • budgets and reports to Niagara Region; and,

  • responds to member concerns.
     

Vice President - Vacant

The Vice President assists and acts as President where required.  The Vice President assists with license renewals and conducts an annual review of the Parent Handbook and all policies associated with the Ministry of Education and the Niagara Region.  Updates and maintains schools website and assists with all social media aspects.

Treasurer - Zoë Gunn

The Treasurer is responsible for the financial aspect of the WLCNS.  Their duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Documents, tracks, and makes financial deposits;

  • Pays bills;

  • Remits WSIB and source deductions;

  • Maintains financial records;

  • Provides monthly statements to the executive committee;

  • Presents all relevant statements at all meetings and when required for submission to CRA and Niagara Region;

  • Documents and tracks charitable donations; and,

  • Generates donation and tuition receipts.

Secretary - Sarah Edgcumbe

The Secretary is responsible for preparing and distributing meeting agendas and minutes, meeting attendance, member lists, registration lists, duty parent calendars, and tracking duty days.  The Secretary will also assist the RECE where required with monthly calendars, parent updates, and field trip organization.
 

Head of Fundraising - Vacant

The Head of Fundraising is responsible for organizing all fundraising activities for revenue generation. They are required to lead the fundraising committee, apply for fundraising licenses, create, purchase and distribute tickets, track parent participation, and collect monies for the Treasurer.
